Video was recorded in Unity game preview; consequently, lighting and rendering quality appears different in the playable version of the experience.
This "box" was made to represent my anxiety over "imperfection." The project specifically referenced an episode from Courage the Cowardly Dog: "Perfect." Video clips and audio were sourced from this episode.
My initial idea for the Cornell box was actually based on my childhood, specifically with elements like the "piano" and the "deer." However, I wanted the project to have more of a "storyline" rather than just being an interactive experience. It ended up becoming a hybrid of the initial concept and the Courage the Cowardly Dog episode. Consequently, the project ended up taking an almost surrealist tone. I specifically wanted to play with the idea of a "TV Box" when considering what exactly a Cornell box is.
I made the 3D models and their animations in Maya, and all settings were assembled in Unity and coded with Visual Studio.
